FAQ’s
What type of training do you use?
Balanced training, once I build a relationship with your dog I teach them the positions and commands with a combination of positive reinforcement, treats and a working collar.
Do I get updates on my dog while they are in training?
Yes. We provide consistent updates throughout your dog’s stay, including 2–3 video progress reports each week. This allows you to see your dog’s development firsthand and feel connected to their journey.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, Our standard payment schedule requires 50% at drop-off and the remaining balance at pick-up.
How many sessions does my dog get a day?
Your dog will participate in multiple short, focused sessions each day—typically between 15 and 20. The number and length of these sessions depend on the difficulty of the skills being taught and your dog’s individual progress.
Can you take dogs with special diets or needs, such as a raw diet or on medications?
Absolutely. We can accommodate raw diets, custom feeding schedules, supplements, and prescribed medications. Your dog’s health and well-being are always a priority
How does my dog get to understand to listen to me and not the trainer?
Before your dog goes home, we conduct a structured handler transfer session to teach you the same communication methods we’ve used during training. This ensures your dog responds to you with the same reliability they’ve shown with us. We also offer follow-up sessions to support a smooth transition and give you the confidence to maintain progress at home.
What happens when we get back home, does all the training go out the window?
Yes. At the completion of the program, we focus on teaching you how to reinforce your dog’s training and maintain healthy boundaries. With consistency and the tools we provide, the training will carry over into your daily life long-term.
Where will my dog be staying during the program?
Training takes place in our home, creating a comfortable environment that makes the transition back home smoother. We have a fully enclosed, climate-controlled dog room with individual kennels, a dog fridge, and 24/7 supervision. Our fenced backyard also provides a safe space for outdoor training and exercise.
How often will my dog be out for exercise, play, and potty breaks?
Dogs are rotated throughout the day from 6 AM to 9 PM. They receive 15–20 focused training sessions daily, plus multiple potty breaks, structured play (if social), and bonding time to keep them comfortable and engaged.
What should I bring for my dog—food, toys, bedding, or other items?
You only need to bring your dog and their food. We provide everything else needed for training, comfort, and bonding.
How do you handle homesickness, anxiety, or stress while my dog adjusts?
We dedicate the first few days to bonding and building trust. By ensuring your dog feels safe and connected to us before introducing commands, we set the stage for effective training and reduced stress.
Will my dog get socialization with other dogs, or is training one-on-one?
Training is one-on-one unless you enroll multiple dogs together. For social dogs, we may arrange safe, supervised playgroups with compatible dogs, usually in the mornings, evenings, or on Sundays.
What happens if my dog doesn’t progress as quickly as expected?
Every program includes a training guarantee. If your dog requires more time, we extend their stay at no additional cost. We keep you informed every step of the way.
What follow-up support do you offer if I run into challenges later?
All 3-, 4-, and 5-week board-and-train programs include follow-up sessions at no additional charge. This lifetime support ensures you always have guidance, even after your dog returns home.
How do you ensure my dog is safe around other dogs, people, or distractions during training?
Safety is our top priority. In public, we choose environments carefully and determine when on or off-leash work is appropriate. Dogs are never left unsupervised, playgroups are only with friendly, safe dogs, and every dog has their own crate and 24/7 monitoring.
Will my dog’s personality change after training?
No. Training enhances your dog’s life—it doesn’t change who they are. Your dog will still enjoy playing fetch and running with energy, but will also know how to relax calmly at a café or stay composed in busy environments.
How do you address behaviors like aggression, reactivity, or anxiety?
We specialize in behavior modification. Each program is customized to the dog in front of us and progresses at their pace. We provide consistent updates during training and lifetime follow-ups to ensure long-term success.
Can I visit my dog during the training program?
Yes, though visits can sometimes slow progress. We generally recommend waiting one to two weeks so we can show you meaningful progress when you come.
How do you handle emergencies or medical situations?
We are located near both emergency and daytime veterinary clinics. With constant supervision, we can respond immediately if needed. One handler can transport your dog to the vet while the other remains home to supervise the rest of the dogs.
What makes your program different from other trainers or facilities?
We focus on real-world application. Once your dog masters commands in low-distraction settings, we spend at least a week proofing their training in public environments. This includes coffee shops, parks, farmers’ markets, gyms, malls, and even airports (in applicable programs). By graduation, your dog is truly ready for everyday life.
